Women making a difference locally

Welcome to the Flamborough-Waterdown Chapter of 100 Women Who Care!

We bring together 100 (or more) women in Flamborough-Waterdown who care about local community causes and who are committed to community service. This chapter was founded in May 2018 by Doris Valade with the help of Lena Aggus and Heather Kane.

We have 4 meetings per year, and each meeting will be for one hour. Each member will bring a check for $100 to each meeting. We will have a presentation from 2-3 local charities, and then a majority vote at the end of the meeting will determine which charity will receive our donations.

Our goal is 100 women = a total donation of $10,000 at each meeting. Together we can make a difference in our community!

Latest news:

Thank you to all of you who participated in our first zoom meeting on June 17th @ 7pm. We had 2 of our members present 2 charities, and Friends of Alexander Place (FOAP) was selected as the recipient of our donations for this meeting. Alexander Place is a long term care home with 126 long term care beds, located at 329 Parkside Drive in Waterdown. Friends of Alexander Place (FOAP) is a charitable organization comprised of local community members with the primary goal of raising funds for the residents of Alexander Place, which can include assistance to seniors in need of enhanced palliative care, adaptive equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, etc) and transportation to appointments. With COVID 19, they also now have numerous additional costs to ensure the health and safety of the residents, and to comply with the regulatory requirements
