Welcome to the Flamborough-Waterdown Chapter of 100 Women Who Care!
We bring together 100 (or more) women in Flamborough-Waterdown who care about local community causes and who are committed to community service. This chapter was founded in May 2018 by Doris Valade with the help of Lena Aggus, Heather Kane and Meghan Hughes.
We have 4 meetings per year, and each meeting will be for one hour. Each member will bring a check for $100 to each meeting. We will have a presentation from 2-3 local charities, and then a majority vote at the end of the meeting will determine which charity will receive our donations.
Our goal is 100 women = a total donation of $10,000 at each meeting. Together we can make a difference in our community!
Wednesday, September 20, 2023 - 7:00PM to 8:00PM
On Thursday (July 6th) we presented our total donations from our June meeting in the amount of $6,200.00 to Hamilton Out of the Cold – Knox Presbyterian Church. Hamilton Out of the Cold is a not-for-profit, non-denominational program that provides meals for those in need in our community from November to March. Their mission is to provide hot nutritious meals – served with dignity and compassion. In November 2021, Knox Presbyterian Church in Waterdown partnered with Hamilton Out of the Cold to provide anyone in need in the Waterdown community with a hot, healthy meal on a drop in basis, every Wednesday between 3:30 and 4:30pm
