On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, our members selected Comfort Bears to receive our group donations in the amount of $6,500.00 (originally $5,600 with some late donations added). Nicole Martin, Ambassador of the Comfort Bears Program, accepted our donations (standing on the right in the picture, and joined by Doris Valade, Co-Chair 100 Women Who Care, Flamborough-Waterdown). Comfort Bears provides cuddly bears for children with terminal illness or experiencing serious trauma. Having a bear to hold onto makes a big difference for a child going through difficult times in their young lives. Comfort Bears are individually sanitized and packaged with a tag providing the name of the individual or group donating this special friend. Bears are provided to hospitals, first responders and community organizations who gift the bears to children in need. In 2022, they will distribute over 1,000 bears!!
