Women making a difference locally

Welcome to the Flamborough-Waterdown Chapter of 100 Women Who Care!

We bring together 100 (or more) women in Flamborough-Waterdown who care about local community causes and who are committed to community service. This chapter was founded in May 2018 by Doris Valade with the help of Lena Aggus, Heather Kane and Meghan Hughes.

We have 4 meetings per year, and each meeting will be for one hour. Each member will bring a check for $100 to each meeting. We will have a presentation from 2-3 local charities, and then a majority vote at the end of the meeting will determine which charity will receive our donations.

Our goal is 100 women = a total donation of $10,000 at each meeting. Together we can make a difference in our community!

Latest news:

On April 17th, we had our 2nd meeting of 2024 which included a celebration of our 5 year anniversary. We had 36 members together to share our favourite charity memories, and to raise a cupcake in honour of the over $123,000.00 that has been raised over 5 years, for our local charities.

During our meeting, we had 2 charities present – Migrants Matter and Darling Home for Kids. Once the votes were counted, the majority were in favour of Migrants Matter. Terry Sciamonte presented the charity and she was thrilled with the support as our donations totalled $7,000.00 and will go a long way in providing health kits for our local farm workers.
